Always allow extra time for check-in at airports due to heightened security. For domestic travel arrive an hour and a half before departure and for international flights you should arrive two and a half hours prior to departure.
Children traveling outside of the United States without a parent(s) should have a notarized letter from the parent(s) not traveling with the child. Rules vary by countries so the safest course is to have the letter available to show authorities if requested.
We highly recommend that you insure your trip. It is a small added cost that protects your travel dollar and covers you before and during your trip.
Remember to budget for the cost of checked baggage as the majority of the airlines now charge for each piece of checked baggage. Travel light!
